We wanted to make a slightly different review in that every Tent we choose is different, whether that means a pop up tent or a larger Family one. We didn’t see the need to just give you our opinion of 10 family tents so we have made them a bit different.

We also only use Amazon products because we believe customers want to see the reviews and feel safe with their purchase, We believe this is what Amazon gives it’s customers.

OK, you have decided on a camping holiday with the kids. But you’re not sure what tent size or type you need!

Well, we have researched for you and our top 10 Best Family Tents On The Market will hopefully save you a ton of time researching and leave you stress free to get on with your holiday.

There are some basics you should be aware of however. Be careful to buy only waterproof tents. You can only imagine the horror of a deluge at 3am and now everyone is soaking and cold because you didn’t buy a waterproof!

The tent should also be large enough to fulfill your family needs. Be wary of the claims of how many people the manufacturers state can be housed in their tents. We have found varying degrees of let’s say, Optimistic opinions!

If you buy larger size tents, it will be heavy and bulky, so most important, make sure you have someone with you that can help erect it, and even more importantly, practice your tent erection at home first, so you know how to erect your tent before your holiday. This is our number 1 choice in our Best Family Tents On The Market blog.

It’s a very spacious Family tent with enough room for 2 Adults & 4 Children with room to spare. We used this last summer so can confirm size. It’s supposed to sleep 8 adults, not sure that would have worked but probably. It was easy enough to set up with just 2 of us completing the task in a little over an hour and that was with only one practice before hand so not to taxing at all.

It has a sewn in ground sheet so no worries about muddy fields seeping into the tent. It’s also waterproof and sturdy so it won’t fly off in the wind. All in all a very good Family Tent to start us off. Highly recommended!

Kids will love the Tepee style and the tent itself is strong and robust. Takes 2 people about 30 minutes to erect and with practice could get that down to 10mins. It’s vented so ideal for warmer climates. Really is a lovely Family Tent!

This Coleman Waterproof Cotes Unisex Outdoor Octagon Tent, is so cool we had to show you the view of inside the tent first. You have a panoramic view! It’s just incredible. I guarantee you will be the envy of everyone on the camp site!

4. Coleman Steel Creek 6 Person Fast Pitch Dome Tent With screenroom

This Coleman Steel Creek 6 Person Fast Pitch Dome With Screenroom Tent essentially does what it says, goes up fast. Two of us took around 10 minutes to put this all together which is amazing in the Tenting world! It has pre-attached poles that help with the erection of the tent.

It’s a very nice Tent with a screened front porch for bug free lounging & illumine reflective guy lines for greater visibility.

Not sure whether 6 persons would fit, probably 5 at a push. We got 4 people inside no problem though. Another great reason this is in our list of 10 Best Family Tents.

This Vango Skye Weatherproof Inflatable Tent is a little bit different to our other selections in that it’s inflatable. But it’s also massive and will easily accommodate persons as listed. It’s got blackout bedrooms that block out 99% of sunlight & a 15m sq living space in the middle of the tent.

The inflation takes about 10 minutes. Make sure to watch the video and practice before you take your vacation.

6. Tree Tent Aeriel Hammock

This is a little bit different and slightly quirky but we love it and we think you will. It’s a Tree Tent from Tentsile Stingray and as the name suggests it’s meant to used as a sort of tree house but a tent. Maybe this picture will give you a better idea.

Kids will love the adventure that these tents bring to the whole camping experience. But beware, one tent will only sleep 2 people so you might want to put 2 kids in these and you have the big tent maybe, or vice versa, or just buy 2! It’s a great addition to our list of Best Family Tents.

Or you could use Hammocks attaching them to the 3 corner D-rings!

Set up time is slightly longer at around 20 minutes but quite easy once you get the hang of it.

Really is a fun way to camp!

This Vango Farnham Blue Tunnel Tent is another great tent. We like how robust this tent is. It uses a special patented tensioning system that braces the poles and prevents any sidewards movement. As any experienced camper will tell you, you don’t want your tent to be moving in the wind so this is a big factor for maybe someone who’s going camping no matter what the weather!

It’s also waterproof as you would expect and fire retardant flysheet as fully tapered seams. Plus great ventilation through the panels. A very nice tent indeed. Sleeps about 5 people. 20 Mins to erect.

As the name suggests, it comes with a double skin & it’s waterproof, making it durable, practical and comfortable.

It’s size is 142 x 92 x 41 in so it’s large enough to just about fit 4 adults, but 2 adults & 2 kids would be better. It has a clip on pole system with just 3 poles to erect. Ideal for festivals really.

The great thing about this Coleman Waterproof Instant Tourer Family Pop Up Tent is, that is “pops up”!

You take off the cover bag and manipulate the poles and bingo! It’s done. Takes 5 mins if that.

Sleeps 4 people but better with 2 adults & 2 Children. It has a sewn in groundsheet, so mud and rain won’t affect your sleep. And it’s waterproof and fire resistant. A great pop up tent for the Family Campers. A Great addition to our list of Best Family Tents!
