Sleeping Bags

Sleeping Bags are great for no fuss, get up and go campers, probably first timers who haven’t experienced the rigours of sleeping on a camp tent floor before. But to be fair, some experienced campers still use sleeping bags, usually with an inflatable mattress of some kind. We tend to use sleeping bags in cold temperatures as it makes you nice and cosy, and some have a great snug fit. We recommend you take a look at the following recommendations:

Our Number 1 choice for Sleeping Bags is-

1.Mountain Warehouse Extreme Sleeping Bag

Mountain Warehouse Extreme Sleeping Bag

If you are going to Siberia to camp, or you just like being lovely & warm, this Mountain Warehouse Everest Extreme is definitely for you. It uses special shaping technology to shape to the contours of your body, a bit like a memory foam mattress might do. As much of your body temperature is lost through your head, it also has a head shaped hood to keep you completely warm even on the coldest of nights. Probably not that great in the summer though!

  • Comfort temperature of the bag is -3 to -9 degrees c

Self Inflating Sleeping Mats

These are as the name suggests “Self Inflating”, so you basically open the valve and the air pores in. It really is that simple. To achieve maximum inflation, you may have to blow some air in by mouth, but really not a problem at all.

We have tried the 5cm Mats and if your bigger than average, you might find them a little uncomfortable, that’s why we have gone for this 10cm one as it’s very comfortable even for some of us heavier types. To let them down you simply open the valve again. You can stand on the mat and push air out with feet to get the last air out, if your impatient like we do.

They are particularly popular with Hikers & Trekkers due to their light weight and easy set up, but regular campers also use them regularly due to the narrow width giving more room in their tents, and ease of use.
